It combines the full TMDB catalogue with AI image and video recognition so you can find any title from a poster, still frame, or short clip — and then organize what you watch with bookmarks, recommendations, and analytics.
Is Movie Finder free to use?
Yes. The free plan includes browsing the catalogue, basic search, trending feeds, up to 50 bookmarks, and contains ads. Premium ($2.99/week) unlocks unlimited bookmarks, unlimited advanced search, unlimited AI image and video search, an ad-free experience, and email support. Pro ($9.99/month) adds custom AI recommendations and viewing analytics on top of Premium.
How does AI image search work?
Upload a JPEG image up to 10 MB — a poster, a streaming-app screenshot, a frame from a phone recording, or even a fan-made still — and Movie Finder's visual recognition pipeline analyzes the image and returns the most likely matching movies, TV episodes, and actors with confidence scores. Each result links straight to a full detail page.
How does AI video search work?
Upload an MP4 clip up to 50 MB. The system extracts representative frames and matches them against a database of millions of titles, returning the films or shows most likely to contain the clip. It's ideal for identifying a movie from a short social-media excerpt or a half-remembered scene.
Can I identify an actor from a photo?
Yes. The dedicated actor-detection mode focuses on recognizing cast members rather than entire scenes. Results include the actor's name, a confidence score, and a link to their full filmography, biography, photos, and recent projects.
Where does the movie data come from?
Catalogue data — titles, posters, cast, crew, runtimes, ratings, release dates, and trailers — is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB), the same community-maintained dataset used by many leading media apps. Data refreshes regularly and is available in seven interface languages.
Which languages does Movie Finder support?
The full interface is available in English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese. Movie and TV metadata are localized where TMDB provides translations.
Do I need an account to use it?
You can browse the landing page without an account. To use search, bookmarks, AI features, and recommendations, sign in with a Google account or continue as a guest. Guest accounts work but only persist on the device they're created on.
How is my data handled?
Movie Finder stores your bookmarks, search history, and subscription status securely in Firebase. Payments are processed by Paddle as the merchant of record and managed through RevenueCat. We do not sell personal data.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from the billing section of your account or through the Paddle customer portal. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.
Does Movie Finder work on mobile?
Yes. The web app is fully responsive and optimized for mobile browsers, including iOS Safari and Chrome on Android. There are also native iOS and Android apps available separately.
